Should I Be Concerned About Toxicity After Having A Tampon Stuck For A Long Time?

hello,

I had a lodged tampon removed today at my primary care physicians office. I made the appt after noticing a foul odor that was unbearable. I am not sure how long I may have had the tampon stuck in there. My dr. successfully removed it however, she didn't mention the need for antibiotics or the possibility of toxic shock syndrome. Should I be worried about this?
Also, is it normal to bleed and cramp after the tampon removal?

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Presence of foul smell discharge, bleeding and cramp could be due to infection present.
It's advisable and recommended to take antibiotic staphylococcus.

Take care

Best Regards
