Should I Be Concerned About A Constant Thumping In The Ear, Also Have History Of Thyroid?
I seem to be experiencing a thumping in my left ear. It isn't a regular thumping, like a heartbeat. It doesn't hurt but it is annoying. I have problems with my thyroid and am on Levothyroxine 50 mcg everyday. I have tried to pop my ears by holding my nose and swallowing hard, but that doesn't seem to help. It is most noticeable when I lay on my left side. My regular doctor's appointment isn't for another month. Should I be concerned??
I have gone through your query regarding thumping in ear along with history of thyroid.
I am suspecting that most likely you are suffering from tinnitus with thyroid. As you said that you feel noticeable thumping when you lay on left side, this indicates that your right ear is diseased. It is a rule to minimize tinnitus diseased ear should always be upside.
To manage it you should consult your ENT doctor for thorough examination and proper management.
Regards.
