Sharp Pain While Chewing Food On Upper Lining Of Cheek. Feels Like Strained Muscle In Cheek. Suggestions?

When i tried to bite down today on my right side I noticed a severe sharp pain. I got the same sharp pain while chewing sushi at lunch. I looked at my teeth and poked around them but the teeth gums aren't the source of my pain. It seems to be the upper lining of my inside cheek. If hurts when I press the inner and outer walls of my cheek together. It almost feels like a strained muscle in my cheek?

HI,

Thanks for asking the query,

Pain while chewing the food can be due to infection in the upper tooth, TMJ disorders, muscle pain.
I would suggest you to visit to a Dentist and get the teeth & TMJ examined.
Pain can also be due to presence of high points in any tooth if filled
Also look for any impacted or errupting wisdom tooth.
Take a course analgesics .
Have a soft diet.

Hope this helps out,

Take care!
