Shadow in the lumbar region during x-ray. What could this be?

My daughter had xrays at a chiropractor and they noticed something and she was sent to a radiology lab for a better xray. All we have been told so far is that he saw a shadow in the lumbar region and he would be consulting a doctor for his opinion. We have not actually seen the xray and I of course worry. What are the possibilities?
