Severe Pain In The Lower Leg After Straining. No Relief Upon Taking Pain Killers. What Is Wrong?
My job is very physical at times, moving very heavy wire cages of mail without help from a forklift. I had a very sharp pain in my lower leg above the ankle that seems to be in front near my shin. A lot of pain when it occured and could hardly put my weight on it. Took pain meds and keep working. Swelling around the area of pain. When off my feet for a couple of days it starts feeling a lot better. When back to work for just a couple of hours, pain starts coming back. Sometimes a lot, other times just enough to let me know it not healed. Any thoughts on what could be wrong? I appreciate any advise.
I understand your concern. It would help to find out what exactly is wrong by getting an MRI of your ankle, however if your insurance does not cover it, get an x-ray in the first place which might help to know if you are having any problems. I also advice you consult an orthopedic surgeon if it does not help and you may also benefit from getting stronger medications and calcium and vitamin C supplements. I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!
