Hello ma'am.

Adenomyosis is a condition where in the normal tissue that grows within the uterus is found in the muscle layers of the uterus. This results in symptoms like severe pain in the pelvic region, especially during periods; bleeding between periods; pain during intercourse; extended and/or heavy periods; worsening symptoms with age; presence of blood clots in period; etc.

It does sound like you could have this condition, but adenomyosis is usually diagnosed with the help of an MRI, ultrasound scan of the uterus, physical examination, clinical presentation, etc.

If all of these tests have confirmed and supported the diagnosis of a bulky uterus, then a biopsy can also be taken to confirm the presence of endometrial tissue in the muscular layers of the uterus. This will confirm the diagnosis of adenomyosis.

Hope this helps.

Take care.
