Severe Pain Between Shoulder, Started As Burning Sensation, Felt Like Coming From Back. Trapped Nerve?

Hi, My name is Annemarie. I have had problems with my back for at least 10 years. 2 days ago I got a sever pain between my shoulders. It started as a burning sensation and has now turned into agonising pain which goes up my neck and right side of my head and down my right arm. It feels like it`s coming from my back between my shoulders on right side. Could this be a trapped nerve ?

Hi,
You are C/O pain in the back between shoulders for the last 10yrs. Now for the last 2 days you got a burning sensation to start with between the shoulders on the backside, later developed into a severe agonizing pain radiating to the right side of your head then radiating down to the right upper arm.
You have not mentioned your age and health status, investigations and treatment taken. You need a complete blood analysis, BP, ECG, MRI cervical Spine and if necessary a CT brain. With this we can come to a conclusion. If the cause is in the cervical spine MRI will reveal the position.
You have to find out whether you have DM, HT and IHD. ECG and Lipid profile results may be useful for treatment. If cervical spine is the route cause consult a Neuro surgeon and follow his advise and treatment for associated conditions af any
As you have pulled on for almost 10 Yrs, there will not be any major problem Simple exercise, along with avoiding pillows and two wheeler ride and wearing of cervical collars are some of the associated treatment.
