Severe Lung Pain. Chest X-ray Shows Inflammation, Cloudiness. Treatment?

Our 15 yr old son has been having severe chest/ lung pain for 2 yrs. We had a chest x-ray done in 2010, there was a little bit of cloudiness in the left lung area. The Doctor also did an EKG, which looked off so we took our son to a pediatric cardiologist , who did an ultrasound of his heart & said his heart was fine, but the Dr said there was inflamation in the linning of his lungs. His chest/lungs hurt when he gets done doing chores, when he walks up the steps, when he is just laying around. It s very sporadic. We had another chest x-ray done a month ago, this one shows even more clouds then the previous one. We are now taking him to a pediatric pulmonologist to see what is going on w/ him. The poor kid just wants to go play FB, BB etc just like everyone else, but can t/won t because he s afraid he might die. What a horrible feeling this would be at the tender age of 15. Do you have any clue as to what we might find out?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
There is a long list of causes of cloudyness of lung fields and i would not like to burden you with them as it will add to your worry. Without clinically examining him it`s difficult to say what could be the possibility. He needs a holistic approach to his problem. You should consult a pulmonologist who will examine him and order some tests including a HRCT of chest and a bronchoscopy through which a biopsy of lung can be taken and studied.
