Severe Headaches, Very Tall For Age. Headaches Due To Sudden Growth Spurts?
Hello... My son is 14 and he is 5 9 height. He is a VERY tall boy for his age. He stayed home from school today because of complaining of a terrible headache . Similar to Migraines. This started last night around 6 p.m. and into today. He is doing better now but I was wondering.. Could growth spurts cause headaches? Also, I was thinking possibly it might be due to his orthodontic work he had done last Thursday.
Hello, Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query. I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through. No. Growth spurts cannot cause headaches. The second cause that is orthodontic work can infact cause headaches. If the headache is persisting this long then it would be quite uncomfortable and let him take some painkillers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. You should see the orthodontist to get the headache resolved. Hope I am able to answer your concerns. If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
