Severe Headache, Pain Is Sharp While Walking, Back Hurts All The Way Down Spine. Suggestions

I never get headaches, but my head is so painful. Also, my back hurts all the way down the spine. When I walk the pain is sharp all up and down my back. My temperature is only 99. I don't have any allergy-like symptoms, so I don't think it is a headcold. I don't want to overreact and go to the hospital, but this level of pain is not something I have ever experienced.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Based on details of headache and diffuse spine pain , one need to consider beginning of viral fever can produce such symptoms.

Other condition from neurological perspective include cervical spondylosis with occipitonuchal headaches, or headache leading to spine pain ( this includes meningism, structural lesion of brain, cervical spine lesion).

If symptoms are worrisome you should consult Neurologist and require further evaluation (like imaging of brain and spine).

Meantime have ibuprofen after food for severe pain .
