Severe Cough, Abdominal Pain, Muscle Spasms, Fractured Ribs, Aging Pain. Chest X Ray Done. Naproxen Will Help?

My 75 year old mom had a severe cough 2 weeks took meds but started having severe abdominal pain.took her to er and she had chest X-ray nothing showed blood work and urine normal and ct scan od abdomel and pelvis they said she could be having a muscle spasm or fracture of ribs still aging pain she says it feels as though something is grabbing when she moves a certain way they gave her flexeral and she was on naproxen not helping the pain .

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Since her xray chest and other investigations are normal and grabbing type pail while moving the chances of muscle spasm is more. Other chances are gastrites and hair line fracture rib. I hope she is not taking any drugs now. Give her plenty of fluids, rest and Tab Aceclofenac with chlorzoxazone combination after food, tab Pantoprazole for a week every evening once before food . Try syp Mucaine gel 5 cc when there is pain. Hope this will help her.
