Severe Abdominal Pain In The Night. Is It Due To Acidity Or Gall Bladder Stones?

Getting severe abdominal pain at the center of the abdomen during night at around 2 oclck, persists till 4 o clock,,,continuous,,,horrible pain, (especially by eating masala items, maida etc) may i know what the cause may be,,,is it acidity or gallstone problem,,hv consulted many doctors, but nothing has helped. kindly help me out doctor.

hi there, what you have described looks like a case of peptic ulcers and as you have rightly noticed spicy food and refined food item like maida make it worse. It would help you to get started on antacids after taking a prescription from your doctor. Also you could make minor changes in your food habit like taking small frequent nongreasy, non spicy food .Also it would help if you took a short stroll after your evening meal instead of going to bed immediately. Have your meal at least 1hr before retiring for the day. If you are overweight then some sort of exercise and weight reduction may also help to relieve you of these symptoms.Doesn't look like a gall stone problem to me but you could get an ultrasound abdomen done to rule out any such problem. Take care
