Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about your battle with PCOD and the recent loss of your pregnancy.

Incompetent cervix or placenta abruptio is not caused by PCOD. Incompetent cervix is commonly caused by lesions to the cervix from previous traumas to the cervix like during child birth, dilatation and curettage, cervical biopsies etc. At times, no real cause is identified. I a happy you are considering cerclage this time around and this is what your doctor should have done when he first diagnosed you with this condition during the previous pregnancy.

Placenta abruptio is most commonly caused by hypertensive illnesses during pregnancy. It can happen again but the chances, tough higher than in the general population are not too high.

I hope you find this helpful and informative. I wish you well with the next pregnancy. If you have more questions related to this, ask me and i say provide more answers. Once more, thanks for this query.
