Seasonal Asthma With Coughing, Inner Ear Infection Followed By Stabbing Pain In Head And Temples. On Gabapentin. Help

I am 39, female. Not over weight. No smoking or drinking. I have seasonal asthma, coughing non stop during the winter. I had a severe inner ear infection on right side back this feb. the infection cave me stabbing pain in the head were only pain killers would give me relief.. I still have the pain behind the ear and into my temple and into my head. Now pain is on both sides. Neulogist thinks atypical facial pain. However pain is not really in face it is from temples to head constant. Being treated by gabapentin. But I can't help think the pain is still behind my ear . Thanks Amy

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, you have got bronchial asthma, it is an allergic reaction, and some times secondary to the cold, which may lead to the sinusitis, ototis media, or infection of the internal ear, so i advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
I to my patient with such pain prescribe antihistamine, decongestant, and pain killer, anti biotic, and alprazolam. Thank you.
