Scratched By Dog, Swelling, Red Line Running Towards Elbow. Taken Amoxicillin. Emergency Condition?

Good evening, my wife was playing with our 2 dogs last night and one got too rough and broke the skin. She immediately flushed with peroxide , but today it was swollen and tender. This evening we noticed a faint red line running towards her elbow . She took a 500mg dose of amoxicillin as a precaution, and she plans to go to the dr. Tomorrow. Our question is should we go to the ER, or are we covered until tomorrow?

Hi there,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic,

Dont worry its not an emergency, if you are sure its just a scratch and not a bite and if the dogs are vaccinated then there will be no problem. Just wash the wound with soap and get her to the physician tomarrow to O.P.

Regards,
Dr.SIVAYOGI
