Safe To Breastfeed When Taking Lorcet And Ibuprofen?

Hey my name is Tonya,my son will be two weeks old Friday and I have decided not to breast feed this time but for the past couple of days I have been thinking I want to try for a couple of weeks but when I am taking medication from the tubal I had,is it safe to breast feed while taking lorcet 7.5 and ibuprofen 800mg? Also he has a yeast infection in his month can this affect me?

Hi Tonya,

Thank you for your query.

For what are you being prescribed Lorcet and ibuprofen as Lorcet contains acetaminophen along with hydrocodone. I do not understand the need for both acetaminophen and ibuprofen. There is no contraindication for breast feeding your son even though hydrocodone is a narcotic.

If your son has a yeast infection then it is not going to affect you but the infection should be controlled. He can only get it from unhygenic feeding which needs to be looked into.
