Regular Vomitings, Episodes Of Diarrhea, Numbness, Tingling In Arms, Legs. Concerned About Hydration?
Hello. My 22 year old daughter has been vomiting all day today since she woke up at about 8am and is still sick now at 8.25pm. She's also had a couple of episodes of diarrhoea. I've told her to keep sipping water as often as she can, but she's not managing to keep it down. She has had a couple of instances of numbness and tingling in her arms and legs too. I'm not sure if she'll be okay as it may well be a 24-36 hour stomach bug, or if we should be concerned about her hydration and take her to the hospital as it's Saturday so the GP surgeries are closed. Thanks for your help.
hello thank you for the query in hcm sir, after going through your query I came to a probable diagnosis of it being an acute gastro enteritis..patients with repeated vomittings and diarroheal illness will have electrolyte abnormalities because of which they develop numbnesstingling and cramps ...all you have to take care of is keep her well hydrated along with electrolytes ...ORS solutions will be available in the medical stores with which you can maintain her hydration ...antibiotics will be add on drugs for her as prescribed by your GP hope I have answered yourquery thank you regards DR.Alekhya
