Redness On Ankle, Seeping Clear Liquid And Pus. Earlier Had Itchy Bump

I don t know if this is something you know of, but I have this infected area on my lower leg, above my ankle that is red, pussing, and seeping clear liquid. I ve only had it a couple of days now, but it s gotten worse. Before I had it, I had a very itchy bump there that I thought was a flea bite. It is now replaced by this area. It s just a small wound on the skin.

Hi,
You probably had a lesion of eczema that got secondarily infected. Clean the area with warm saline twice apply a topical antibiotic and steroid cream. If the area is itchy, take an oral antihistaminic. Also consult a dermatologist to get the area examined as whether you need a course of oral antibiotic or not can only be decided after having a look at your lesion. Dermatology being a visual field, a dermatologist can only be sure of his/her diagnosis after seeing the lesion. Take care.

Hi thanks for your question.
You had a bump above your ankle and now clear fluid and puss is seeping out of the wound and you think, it is secondary to flee bite.
This is an infected wound may be secondary to flee bite or a boil.
You need antiseptic dressing of this wound
A broad spectrum antibiotic to prevent septic arthritis of ankle joint, since the wound is very near the ankle joint.
Additionally you may need analgesic anti inflammatory drugs ( pain killer)
Consultation with physician is encouraged.
Hope this answers your question.
