Purple Thing Visible On Tonsil. What Is It? Is It Serious?

I recently discovered a purple thing on my tonsil. I usually get these white clumps that form in the pockets of my tonsils, but this thing is purple, and it seems to be attached to my tonsil. I was wondering what this is, and if it s serious. Thanks.

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

In reference to your query regarding purple spot in your tonsil followed by white clumps in the pockets of tonsils, Here I would like to say that this is sub-mucous haematoma giving purple look and later this will get infecter to convert into white colored pus.

Overall your this story indicates development of chronic tonsillitis. You may now take-

1- Warm saline gargling.

2- Antibiotic (according to culture and sensitivity of throat swab).

3- Avoid spicy food.

4- Take adequate fluid orally.

Regards.
