Prescribed Triamt Hctz For Meniere S, Drink Bear. Side Effect?
My ear doctor prescribed triamt/hctz one 37.5 tablet everyday to help with meneire's disease. I wanted to know what are its long term affects on say the kidney and liver? Also I like to drink beer, how will that affect the pills effectiveness and also how does it interact with the pill? Perhaps I could take the pill every other day-what do you think?
Triam/HCTV is a combination of two medications both of whom are diuretics. Diuretic can be useful in persons with meniere's disease.
In terms of possible side effects: rash, allergic reaction, low blood pressure, palpitaitons, nausea, vomiting, fatigue and headache. It rarely has any effect on the liver or kidney.
When used with alcohol, there may be an additive effect to blood pressure lowering, the blood pressure may drop further.
If you use the pill intermittently then it may not work as effectively to relieve your symptoms.
I hope this helps
