Pregnant With Pain In The Lower Abdomen. Worried About Premature Child Birth

hi,.. I am 32 weeks pregnant now, yesterday I had pain in lower abdomen towards right side, pain was not continuous but in a gap of 10 secs. I consulted my doctor. she told me to take complete bed rest. b'coz if the pain continues that may lead to premature birth...she prescribed me tidilan-10 tablet..and she also told that the cervix is very soft..what does that mean n what am I suppose to do...I don't want premature birth of my baby.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
As you are frequent pains and soft cervix there is possibility of premature uterine action as told by your doctor.
Before onset of labor the cervix can become soft, so that it can stretch during labor.
But don't worry as your doctor kept tocolytic tablets to you that can possibly prevent the preterm labor.
Take bed rest preferably in left lateral position.
If the pain increases consult your doctor once.

Take care.
