Pregnant With IVF. Recommended Termination Due To Fetus 0.39 Cm And Yolk Sac 2.00 Cm. Reason To Keep The Pregnancy?

Hi, My name is Maria! My last period was 30.06.2013, and I am pregnant with IVF. The embrio transfer was 17.07.2013. After my last ultrasound, that was made 23.08.2013 the doctor said that the fetus is only 0.39 cm, and the yolk sac is 2.00 cm. The doctor recommended termination of the pregnancy, if there is no imrovement in 5 days. This is my third IVF, so I,m asking is there a reason to keep believing in this pregnancy, or I should just geve up. Waiting for Your answer.

Hello Maria.
Thanks for your query.
The growth of the fetus is not as per the recommendations.
Also you have not mentioned if a heartbeat was visualized.
If there is no heartbeat perceived after a week, termination is the option ahead, as the pregnancy appears to be non viable.
Please wait for a week more, continue taking the medications, take rest and dont stress out.
Wish you all the best.

Thanks for posting your query.

At a fetal size 0.39 cm , we expect to see a heart beat.
Yolk sac size does not really matter. We can wait until fetal size or CRL 6 mm for the heart beat to appear.

Rescanning in 5 days may not show a difference, please wait for atleast 2 weeks before you re scan and take a second opinion before you take any decision.

Also the best route of scanning is transvaginal or internal scanning as the details are appreciated better.

All the best, Hope I have cleared your doubts!
Please, do not hesitate to contact me for further queries.
