Pregnant. Having Weakness, dizziness And Nausea. Hgb 10.1 And Hct 31.1, Immature Granulocyte Was 2.1. Meaning?

Hi, I am a nurse practitioner. My patient is 26 weeks pregnant. She is having episodes of weakness, dizziness and nausea at work (on her feet all day, and diet doesn't sound adequate). I ordered a 3 hr GTT...results are normal. Her CBC and Diff shows anemia...Hgb 10.1 and Hct 31.1, Immature granulocyte result was high at 2.1....what is the significance of this last result being elevated???

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The immature granulocyte helps in predicting the type of anaemia or any possibility of malignant cells in the blood picture. She has an iron deficiency anaemia and proper supplements will help her.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
