Plastic Bronchitis, Discolored Teeth. On Medication. Advise?
My 7 year old granddaughter, who has a condition known as Plastic Bronchitis as is on a lot of medication has very badly discoloured teeth. Her baby teeth were lovely and white but her grown up teeth are yellowish. She has been a very ill child since she was one year old. She is health enough at the moment TG. Any solutions
I doubt that the discoloration is related to her bronchitis. It can be idiopathic, i.e. without any discernible cause, although it can be familial, due to drugs like tetracycline taken either by the mother during her pregnancy or given to the baby within the first 7-8 years (in the former case, both milk teeth and permanent teeth will be affected, while in the latter, it depends on when the exposure occurs).
In any case, a visit to the cosmetic dentist will take you to the management of this problem - such as artificial teeth caps, enamel whitening, or something more technical for even a pediatrician like me.
