Hi, I am 34 years old. For the past 10 years I have been suffering from pulmonary infection, doctor says its due to allergy but my phlegm culture report says heavy growth of Klebsiella Pneumonia, my wbc count always at <6000 cells. Even then doctor has been prescribing only Fluticasone nasal spray, Rotocaps through revolutioner only. It is only temproary relief, please tell me what exact treatment that I should take? Due to ill health i am not married till now. Please suggest.

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

there are 2 basic issues here
1. klebsiella can be a laboratory contaminant, and so need not be specific. you will have to look at the colony count in the report to know how significant it is.
so accordingly one can decide if the infection needs treatment
2. the culture report must have got a sensitivity test. so i think an antibiotic course can be initiated accordingly
as for your treatment issues, i would suggest you meet a pulomonologist, do decide the course, since i cannot see your x ray online

suggest ct chest

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.
