Painful Knees And Hips, Episodes Of Hot Flushes. Overweight. Detected Low WBC. Connection?
Hi I have recently been having pain in my joints and muscles and are finding walking difficult due to really painful knees, and hips. Some days are much worse than others. I am overweight but not hugely so and my friends don't think I am over weight at 5 feet 6 inches and weight 74 kgs. My Dr has run blood tests and is concerned that my white blood cell count is too low. She is running tests again in 3 weeks to see if there is any change. Have you any idea if these two things are related? I am 53 and just starting the whole hot flushes saga. Thanks.
Hi! WELCOME TO HCM! low white blood cell count that is leucopenia and muscle and joint pain can be related . there are several medical conditions in which both these things are seen together . probabilities in your case can be Rheumatoid arthritis, chronic arthritis, viral ,bacterial infection or autoimmune diseases which show musculoskeletal symptoms as well as leucopenia. You must get the blood counts repeated as well as tests done for RF,anti-CCP.ANA ,HLA-B27 done to rule out causes of arthritis. hope this will help you!
