Pain In Lower Left Pelvic Area. Ultrasound Shows Ovarian Cysts. Surgery Required?
I have bee having much pain in lower left pelvic area for last several weeks. Sometimes, even so sharp that I almost "drop." family dr sent me for ultrasound today. report says several Nabothian cysts on right ovary and endometrial lining with 2.4 x 2.3 x 2.9 complex cyst on left ovary (the painful side). I am awaiting my gynecologist office to call with appointment with them. Should I be worried? I am 42 and have 3 children (in other words, DONE). Could I be looking at possible surgery for removal of complex cyst?
Hi, Thanks for the query. You may be having nabothian cysts in the cervical region, which indicates chronic pelvic infection. And multiple cysts in right ovary indicating poly cystic ovary disease. Simple cyst of this size will regress usually but as you are having complex cyst better to get evaluated. Try to found out the exact nature of the cyst and depending on that you can plan the management with your doctor's advice. You can go for CT scan for MRI, if your doctor suggests.
