Hi Brenda Davies,

Thank you for posting your query on Healthcare Magic.

Your brother might be having a chronic problem of large and small joints.

The most common problem which may present like this is rheumatic joint problems such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and others.

I advise your brother to consult the orthopedician for physical examination and investigations.

Rheumatologist referral may be required.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
