Pain At The Back Moved To Hip, Less Bowel Movement, Pain Gone When Small Hard Pellets Came Out

My situation is my back has been hurting for a month now the last week it has moved to my left hip. I haven't been able to have a large bm durning this time, only small ones. However tonight my stomach starting hurting really bad so I forced myself to sit and push on the toilet for about 15 min, only small sticky hard pellets came out. I can still feel more in there. But my back/hip pain is gone. What is going on?

Dear friend,

Thanks for posting your query on this website. I can fully appreciate your concern for problem.

You have neither mentioned your age; nor, any history of bleeding through rectum/mixed with stools; duration of constipation; duration of irregular bowel habits if any.

On the face of it, you have impacted stool in the anal canal. Consult a Surgeon, who will assist you in removing hard stool. Thereafter, you should undergo Colonoscopy to exclude/confirm any growth in your colon, which could have been the reason for pellet-like hard stools.

The pain in your left hip was the colonic pain radiating to the hip/back.

Please give top priority to Colonoscopy examination.

I am confident that you will certainly benefit from the advice.

May I assure you that I am always available for your assistance and will try my best to cure your condition to the best of my experience and knowledge.

Please feel free to revert back to me in case of further clarifications, if any.

HAVE A NICE DAY AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY.

Fond Regards,

Dr.(Col) R Karanwal
