On Screws And Plate In Ankle Due To Broken Ankle. Screws Pusing To The Surface Of Skin, Aggrevating Skin. Due For Removal In 3 Weeks. Time To Heal?
Hi,
I broke my ankle 3 years ago and have screws and a plate inserted. I have a date for them all to removed in 3 weeks time as some of the screws are pushing to the surface of the skin and becoming aggrevating. I work in a hotel though so spend majority of my time on my feet and was wondering what my recovery time is going to be after my operation.
The general recovery time after an implant removal from the ankle will be around 2-3 weeks. During this time you are not advised to involve in activities like running , jumping or any impact sports because the holes present in the bones after the removal of screws will act as stress risers and may result in a fracture again.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
