On Menopause. Can An Online Doctor Check If The Thyroid Blood Tests Are Normal ?

My thyroid blood tests showed the following: TSH 2.610; TSI 53; TPO Ab 130; Anti Ab 130 and my doctor said we should monitor this since it shows I will have a thyroid problem in the future. I want to know if there is something I should be doing now. I also had low Vitamin D and showed I'm in menopause (although it has not been12 months with no period yet.) AAAA

Hello

As you have said that you are in menopause , so vitamin D will be low , and in females of 40-60 years do have low vitamin D.

Your thyroid profile appears normal , with normal TSH

Though your antibodies against thyroid are increased that is TPO thyroid peroxidase , and anti thyroglubulin.

Most of the population of western countries are positive for these antibodies and yet only 50% of them will develop thyroid disease , rest will be normal..

These antibodies show that you may or may not develop autoimmune thyroidistis , that could be hyper or hpothyroid.

I would suggest that you should undergo 3 monthly follow up for thyroid profile , then 6 monthly till next 3 years, then you can forget it.

And for now you cannot take any medicine , or herbal medicine to prevent this autoimmne thyroidistis to develop.
