Hello! My name is jennyffer, I m 24 ( i have no children) I would appreciate some medical advice on my symptoms. I got a copper IUD 6 months ago, insertion was really painful, I spotted in the beginnig like it was expected and had lower back pain for a month but I did my best to be patient with my body. The first 3 months were pretty great, my cycle was regular, painless periods; I feel my body was adjusting beautifully to the device... Unfortunately after those 3 amazing months, my period seemed like never ending, which was really frustrating to me bc I thought my uterus had adjusted already. My period lasted around 14 days or more, and when it finally stopped, 2 weeks went by and suddenly I started bleeding again and still to this present day. Sometimes it s a heavier flow, and other times not so bad, but it s constant. I also notice the blood has an unpleasant smell to it, could it be the copper? And i pass a lot of blood clots, i feel like chunks of my uterus are coming out!! I think all this bleeding is making me anemic, I experienced getting really disturbing dizziness in two occasions and I seem to be getting a lot of frequent headaches. This doesn t feel like my body is adjusting anymore but I don t know whats normal anymore, I m tired of bleeding. My uterus is definitely letting me know it s not happy. Should i consider removal of device? Or should i give it more time? Any advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated!
