Need Treatment For Shoulder Pain

shoulder pain I am having very sharp pains n my right upper back/shoulder area. it happened suddenly and has persisted for about 3 hours now. it starts by my shoulder blade and if i try to lift my arm it sends a shooting pain down my back and it hurts to breath. I have been having on and off muscle spasms. I have taken two extra strength tylenol and it still is painful to move. it dulls some when i lay on my back but doesn t go away. and as soon as I try to get up it is extremely painful again. should I go to the hospital or can it wait for a Dr appt? it has been happening on and off for five weeks but it is really bad tonight, worse then its ever been before.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hi,

This is mostly a spasmed muscle or group of muscles, try a strong muscle relaxant and hot water massage on your back and shoulder, if you have access to a vibrator device it can help until you see a therapist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Ayman Darrag, Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist
