Need Treatment For Hallucinations

My mother has parkinsons is 89 years of age and has been taking quetiapine 25mg for quite a few years now atbedtime. It has become difficult giving medication and so there have been times when she wont take it. Sometimes, when I read the side effects list, I think it might be better she does not take it. I will be seeing the specialist later in the month. Apparently this is to help with halucinations. Eleonore

Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic

In your mother case, quetiapine is the best medicine. Other antipsychotic like risperidone or haloperidol etc can not be given, due to side effects. Quetiapine would not effect on parkinson's symptoms, but help to control underline psychotic symptoms. In case, you need any further help, you can ask.

Thanks
