Need Medication To Cure Stage 3 CKD And H Pllori

My husband, age 79, has stage 3 CKD, has been on blood pressure cholesterol meds for many years, does not have diabetes, has just been diagnosed with H Pylori. He began a two-week treatment for H Pylori yesterday. Is it possible that ridding the body of the harmful bacteria will help to slow the advance of CKD? It seems to become more and more complicated to manage meds and life, as he feels ill more days than well. He has not smoked for over 30 years. Does not drink. Has had two mild strokes separated by 20 years.

Hello,
Very frankly speaking, treatment of H pylori has no connection with improvement of CKD status.
I agree with you that it is really problemetic for a CKD patient to manage day to day life and adjust his medications and dietary restrictions, but the fact is that you can not escape from it.
You must keep your blood pressure under tight control along with protein restricted diet.
You must avoid all medications which are nephrotoxic.
You must promptly control any urinary tract infection,if it takes place.
It is good that you don't smoke and take alcohol.
My advice to you would be not to loose any patience and hope and be in regular touch and care of your treating doctor.
Thanks
