My dr switched me from 249 mg verapamil to 100

My dr switched me from 249 mg verapamil to 100 mg of metoprolol succinctly. He had me transverse by cutting verapamil in half for 5 days and the other in half for 5 days then the full dosage of metoprolol. Today my blood pressure is 154/94 which is way up and that is after two days of cutting the verapamil in half. What should I do?

Hi. I m on Verapamil 240 ER once daily. However, I used to be on Metoprolol Tartrate 50 mgs twice daily and my blood pressure was lower on Metoprolol. I have plenty of Metoprolol. Can I safety switch back over? And if so, how do I do that? Thank you!
