Hi... The average age  a man lives is between 60 to 80 years. it is difficult to predict the years a person will live.. But I can say that your dad is in the right track by his present life stlye... This will prevent the complications one usually gets due to diabetes at his age..  Wish your dad all the best and he lives for many more years with happiness...:)

my dad is diabetic and we work together and he keeps losing it that badly with me that he had me against a wall the other day and if i was a man he would have head butted me - today he would have thrown tea. he is is 70. i am 42 (im female). there are problems at work and i am taking the firm through a lot of changes but when he has these outbursts it sets me back loads in front of the staff and our business partners- he has told me he f***ing hates me which i is out of character and i know this isnt true, and he gets this snarl on his face where i dont recognise him. he can be the same with my mum. i asked my mum today is he is taking his blood suger levels. he hasnt for ages but his diabetic nurse has actually made him take them 2 or 3 times a day this week as she thinks he needs a higher dose of insulin - which he injects in his stomach . i am not an easy person and under a lot of stress but my dad never used to be like this. i dont recogise him anymore. could this be the diabetes or do you think he has just changed with age?
