Mouth Ulcers, Swollen Glands, Tight Muscles Around Neck, Shoulders, Back, Headache, Nausea, Relapse Of Glandular Fever ?

I have mouth ulcers , swollen glands, sore tight muscles around my neck, shoulders and back, and have been having continuous tension headaches for the last couple of weeks. Every now and then my face feels really hot and I feel nauseous. Is this just a viral infection? I had Glandular Fever at some point in my life (dont know when as it came up in a blood test a few years ago but it wasnt active at the time) - could it be a relapse?

Hi,

The mouth ulcers could be indicative for viral or fungal infections.
Swollen gland and tight muscles around your neck and shoulders and back are indicative for infection of the :
- throat
- lymph-nodes
- mouth

whether bacterial, viral or fungal infection.

A good examination by an ENT specialist is needed together with culture of mouth/throat swab to determine the right origin of your problems.

I'd advise to :

- keep good oral hygiene
- avoid citrus food, too hot or too cold foods/drinks
- avoid carbonated drinks

You can send a photo of your mouth ulcers to me to assist you further!

Wish fast recovery!
