hello & welcome
as you are of 17 years old this is your wisdom tooth only.
wisdom teeth can go out of arch alignment which can pinch your buccal mucosa while chewing and talking.
if pain get worse visit to your dentist and plan for extraction of this tooth after an X-ray.

Hi
Normally when third molar (wisdom tooth) is erupting the overlying mucosa gets inflamed and it is painful if that area is not properly cleaned. Just keep the area clean by rinsing after every meal and also you could do warm saline rinses (add some salt to half a cup of plain warm water)3-4 times a day.

hello there...Since you are already 17 years of age...all your permanent set of dentition should be present... usually 18 years is the time period for the eruption of third molars...since you are in your 17...pain should be from the erupting third molar....If third molar is not the reason then one of your molars should have got decayed...clinical examination is required before i could comment about the diagnosis...Get yourself examined by your dental surgeon...

HELLO,

To evaluate toothache,a direct clinical examination is necessary.

Please do visit a dentist and get thorough check up done.

Decayed teeth has to be restored or extracted depending on severity of toothache.

Wisdom tooth if impacted ,has to be extracted or flap overlying tooth has to be removed to enhance tooth eruption.

Take ciplox along with analgesics.

Take care.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

As your age is 17 it is most probably due to the erruption of the wisdom tooth, a thorough clinical examination is required.
I would suggest you to visit the Dentist and get the checkup done, take an OPG radiograph. Take a complete course of antibiotics and analgesics under prescription of your Dentist.
At home take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.

Hope this helps out.

Regards....

hello ,
thanks for writing to hcm

as per your age its the time for wisdom teeth to erupt..yes their path of eruption is not always normal ..they are most commonly involved in causing dental problems.. therefore i would suggest you to visit a dentist take a radiograph for knowing their position in eruption ...if the dentist feel they won't cause any problem then go for symptomatic treatment and if it shows poor prognosis then get it extracted ...
get well soon ...take care

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

Usually the wisdom tooth comes around 18 to 23 years of age. Therefore it could be suspected in your case too.

It can be confirmed by taking an Intra oral periapical radio graph. This will exactly locate, if wisdom tooth is in the path of eruption or not.

Meanwhlie you can do warm saline rinses.

Hope it helps.

For further query please let us know.

Thanks.
Take care.

Hi
Thanks for using HCM forum,
As you are 17 years old, so might be your wisdom tooth is coming.
When wisdom teeth is malaligned due to lack of space in jaw then it changes its path of eruption.
Wisdom tooth can apply pressure on adjacent tooth or cheek ...
Causes pain in cheek, tongue, other teeth or jaw bone.
Consult dentist for clinical and radiographical examination.
Take care
