General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi..

It may take amoxicillin for 7-10 days to cure pericoronitis.

The duration of treatment of pericoronitis depends upon the severity of the infection and the clinical response, amoxicillin is usually given for 3 days. However, if there is no clinical response it may be extended for up to 7 to 10 days.

Getting cold during the course of treatment does not contribute to long time for amoxicillin to work.

Hope I have answered your query.
