Moderate Abdominal Pain, Vomiting, Hiatal Hernia, Chrons Disease. What Is Going On?

I have had moderate abdominal pain on the left side for about 3-4 days now. I have a history of stomach problems which include vomiting , diarrhea & pain. I had my gallbladder removed in 08 & a sphincteronomy in 10. I also have a hiatal hernia . I have an aunt on 1 side of the family & an uncle on the other side that have chrons disease. I feel like i have never really gotten diagnosed b/c my symptoms come & go. Should I make an appt w/ my gastro or go to the ER? What could b going on?

Hi
Vomiting, diarrhoea and pain are suggestive of Gastrointestinal tract problem.
Hiatal hernia may cause upper abdominal pain. But,diarrhoea is not seen with this condition.
Crohns disease is a type of Inflammatory bowel disease that can affect any part from Mouth to Anus.It may lead to all the three complaints that you have mentioned. It runs in families too.
Please consult your Gastroenterologist and get investigated.
Regarding moderate abdominal pain on left side,it may be due to left Renal/Ureteric stone.Simple test like Ultrasound abdomen will exclude the stones.
If Ultrasound abdomen is advised by your doctor, then any other lesion causing the pain can also be found out.
Wish you good health
Regards
