Massive Heart Attack, 2 Stents Inserted, Body Cold. Warming Today To See Brain Damage. Will He Be Ok ?

Hi my dad had a massive heart attack yesterday morning. He was breathing the entire time before ambulance showed up. A block was found and removed. Two stents were inserted. He is now in ICU and his body is cooling They are going to warm him today to see if there is any brain damage . What is the likelihood that he will be okay? I wasn t there when it happened but my understanding is that he got help very quick and was getting CPR the entire time on the way to the hospital. Please any information is appreciated. Also, what questions should I ask the doctor?

Hello and welcome to Public Forum
Before giving answer to you query I want to know that:
1. Is your father presently conscious, semi-conscious or unconscious?
2. If he is conscious, is he is moving all the limbs and speaking properly?
3. To what time period he is unconscious before the procedure?
4. What is his age and physical activity before the incident?
5. Any other previous history like Diabetic, Kidney disease, CVA etc.?

I want answer to the above said query before telling you the recovery time and prognosis. You can ask you doctor about the prognosis and whether there is any damage to the brain clinically or not? CT scan of head can be done to rule out this. Hope this will help you.
Best wishes
