Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Based on your description, I feel that you have suffered a Soft tissue Hematoma (blood clot). This is self limiting and will heal spontaneously within a week or two.

The general treatment guidelines are as follows -

* Use an elastic compression bandage around the swollen area
* Ice packing should be applied for about 20 minutes once in every 2 hours
* Keep you leg in elevation most of the time
* Give rest to the injured part and don’t involve in activities which puts additional strain on the injured tissues
* Use analgesic medications like Advil or Aleve as needed.

If your symptoms are not resolving with the above measures, consult your family physician.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
This lump is actually contusion ( collection of blood underneath the skin due to hard underlying bone tibia).
Either it resolve within 7 days or you will have to take serratiopeptidase +aceclofenac after consultation with your doctor.
Ice massage will reduce the swelling .
For local application the best medicine is heparine in my opinion.
In my opinion you will get quick relief with heparin .
Good luck.
