Hi, Just today I have found a lump above my right collarbone at the base of my neck . It is set in quite deep, but it s big enough now to be visible... about the size of a big gum ball. It hasn t caused me any pain.... but after examing it myself it is now sensitive. about 7 years ago I had surgery to remove lumps/ lymphnodes from my right underarm . Could this be the same thing?

Hello dear,

The presence of lump over the collarbone can be due to:
1. Injury to bone or soft tissue in that region
2. Infected cyst
3. Lymph node enlargement
4. Tumor

Investigation like X ray will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.

Though symptomatic relief can be obtained by intake of analgesics, it will be better to consult your General Physician once & get a proper examination done to find out the exact cause.
Based on that, appropriate management steps could be taken.

Wishing you a good health.
Thanks & take care.
