Lower Back Problem, Weakened Muscles, Spinal Problems. History Of Broken Leg And Ligament Damage. Need Advice

I had a broken right leg and knee ligament damage and was in a cast to my hip for six months, i worked to restrengthen my leg and glutes though they never recovered to the same level as my other side no matter how hard i exercised, i began to play soccer again which eventually caused a spasm in the left side of my lower back which lasted three months. This prevented me from training again for a number of months, and has led to me being weaker on my right side in my lower body again, and has severley weakened my upper torso on my left side from my glutes, hips, to my core muscles, obliques, and up into my lats and shoulder muscles, it is as if i am lob sided. I have visited many physios and have not received any good advice or physio programs that have came close to rectifying or aidingmy recovery, i am completely disillusioned with the profession, i now have constant lower back pain, spinal problems and weakened muscles all over my whole body, as well as all the previously listed injuries. No matter what different training regimes, exercises or methods i have embarked upon i just end up in pain and injured again, i am really upset and depressed as i have been physically fit my whole life. I would really be grateful if you could give me some good advice to help me to recover from my injuries in what ever form you could email on to me, i just want to be able to train and playing soccer again without geting similar injuries recuring again, as i wouid like to participate in an upcoming charity soccer event for disadvantaged young people in a couple of months. I would be most grateful if you forward me any data or information, yours sincerley Mark Ward, Dublin, Ireland.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

From the description, I assume that you are more concerned with your low back pain.

As you have tried all modalities of conservative management without much relief in pain, I suggest you to go for RADIO FREQUENCY ABLATION for your back pain.

This procedure is used to reduce pain in your lower back and is more helpful to patients with CHRONIC (long standing) low back pain. It is said to provide pain relief lasting for 6 months to 2 years (maximum).

Hope this information is helpful. Good luck
