Lots Of Hair On Face, Suffering From PCOS. Treatment To Remove Excess Hair?

My daughter has pcos and has alot of hair on her face. Is there anything we can do to remove it? she was waxed on Friday and already today (Sunday) she has stubble. This is very expensive and extremely awful for her. She went through about three years of (sorry i can't remember the correct term) being zapped with lazer to kill the hair but it didn't do a good job and the hair constantly is growing. This is so sad because she is in constant worry about this hair. She was on birth control that did help but the doctor did not want her to continue on it for health problems that could be fatal. Thank you for your help.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
I can understand your concern.
For hirsutism, lasers are the best option available. Sometimes results with lasers are not desirable if correct laser type and correct energy parameters are not chosen as per the hair type. Usually six to ten sittings along with maintenance sessions are required for good results. Sometimes if good results are not obtained we go with double pulsing of the area( ie giving two shots with different parameters at one place) or add oral drugs like aldactone etc. So its better that you consult your dermatologist once more regarding the response iwth lasers etc. If you do n ot want to go further with lasers, then after waxing the area she may use eflornithine cream daily over the hairy area. It would help her to some extent.
Hope that helped
