Lost Peripheral Vision. Normal Blood Sugar. What Could Be Done?

My 33 year old daughter has lost her peripheral vision. She went to an eye specialist today and he told her he can find nothing to warrant the loss. He said sometimes people lose their peripheral vision and it slowly comes back. She is a mother of 6 children and needs to be able to drive. At this time that is out of the question. She has had a blood sugar check and that is ok. Do you have any ideas on this matter. Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,
As you have mentioned in the history that specifically she has lost peripheral vision. Peripheral vision is lost specifically in diseases affecting the mid periphery of the retina. The common cause in this age group are retinitis pigmentosa, pathological myopia. She needs to be examined and investigated by investigations like visual field examination.
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist and undergo investigations to find out the underlying cause.
Thank you

Hi, 33 years old mother with 6 children, can have any thing, due to mal nutrition, anemia, anxiety, tensions, hypertension. The main cause could be retinal detachment.
I advise you to consult a retina eye specialist to find the cause of the retinal detachment and if necessory may operate if necessory, and correct it.
I advise you to give her, foods rich in vitamin A , green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and proteine rich foods. Thank you.

since your daughter has consulted eye specialist who didnt find any organic problem for her peripheral vision loss retinal detacment and retinitis pigmentosa are not there. if the problem was recovered before about an hour it can be a vareity of migraine attacks which later comes associated with headaches. if it persisted for long hours temporary blockades of retinal vessels is a possiblity. so not only blood sugar, but blood pressure and cholesterol should be evaluated. discuss with you eye specilist about the chance of vessel blocks and consult a physician also to check any vascular abnormalities
