Left Foot Infected By Cellulitis After Bitten By Cat. Swollen And Tingling With Numbness In Calf. Anything To Worry ?

Hi, I was bitten on my left foot by a cat 4 months ago, which made 4 puncture wounds that became infected with cellulitis. After 23 days on antibiotics, 2 of which were spent in hospital through a drip. Also total rest with foot elevated for one month it appeared to get better. Outpatients were happy with it and said it would be swollen and discoloured for a while and said only to go back if the condition got worse. It still swells when hot, aches when cold and just recently has been tingling. I have also noticed slight swelling/numbness up to my calf. Is this anything to worry about?

Hi,
Thank you for writing to us.
Swelling of calf again needs reevaluation by the doctor to look for the presence of infection and other problems such as thrombosis of veins.
I suggest you to consult the doctor for reexamination.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
