Itchy White Spots With Dried Skin, Scabs Due To Itching, Nausea Even If Only Yoghurt Is Eaten. Any Ideas?

Yes,
I have nausea for no apparent reason. Even if I have just had a yogurt. I am 65, good health, having a few skin issues, but I was in the sun a lot when I was younger.
I have some white spots that itch and then if I scratch nothing comes out but a tiny piece of like dried skin. I try not to scratch but do so in my sleep, so my skin has scabs. Any idea? My daughter is a family physician, but I haven't been to a dermatologist yet. She doesn't have a clue.

Hi and thanks for the query,

I think you deserve a proper clinical review. It s true you need to see a dermatologist. However, the clinical scenario described might not be infectious. Rheumatologic disease like psoriasis should be considered and a history of allergy must also be carefully considered.

You need a dermatologist, but the rheumatologic and allergic components must be carefully considered, though doing everything possible to formerly rule out an infection (fungal, bacterial).

Thanks and kind regards,

Bain LE, MD,
