Is Unflavored Psyllium Safe For Weight Loss?

My doctor advised me to get 21 grms of fiber a day and I was thinking of unflavored psyllium to accomplish this. I am loosing weight by choice and so some days I don t eat much.I just read that laxatives are habit forming, I didn t think of psyllium as a laxative. Do you think this would work?

The answer to your question is yes, unflavored psyllium will help with both wt. loss and lowering lipids in the blood. As far as will it work - it will work as part of a therapeutic lifestyle change approach. Drinking green tea in the am will help rev up the metabolism. These add-ons should be centered around a balance diet with enough fruits, vegies, protein, good carbs and good fats with adequate exercise, sleep and stress control. Good luck with your goals!
